January 25, 2012Happy New Year! 2012 marks the 78th anniversary of Hui No‘eau, bringing with it an exciting lineup of studio classes, exhibitions, events and more as we come together in celebration of community arts education on Maui. This month we launched our winter/ spring session at the Hui, featuring 64 classes & workshops with our core team of teaching artists as well as 6 visiting artists from Wyming (J.D. Hillberry), California (Sandy Delehanty), Oregon (Dory Kanter), Utah (Jeff Juhlin), Portland (Bryn Forbes) and New York (Esterita Austin). (Be sure to click to learn more about FREE lectures and affiliated workshops). We kicked off the year in exhibitions with record-breaking art submissions for the 2012 Hui No‘eau Annual Juried Exhibition as we welcomed guest juror Allyn Bromley, who remarked “The work that I have seen at Hui No‘eau is of high quality and serious intent, and it is my pleasure to work with the Hui to select another exhibition of their best.” Be sure to join us for one of the many FREE artist chats & walk-throughs in conjunction with this prestigious exhibition; click here to learn more.
